Learn To Play Summer Sessions

2022 Summer Skill Sessions

Seattle Women’s Hockey Club Summer Skill Sessions are intended for all women age eighteen years and older with little to no experience. Our goal is to grow the women’s hockey community and prepare players for the next step in their hockey career by joining Seattle Women’s Hockey Club!

This will be a 6-week training session, focused on developing the fundamentals of women’s beginning hockey.


2022 Give Hockey A Try Players

REQUIRED ICE HOCKEY GEAR

LEARN TO SKATE SESSION

Helmets with a cage/visor/bubble are required for this event and gloves are recommended to keep your hands warm. If you own ice hockey skates, please bring them with you. You will have the opportunity to rent skates from the club for free. We will collect a $25 refundable deposit at the time of the event and advanced notice is required as supplies are limited. Stay hydrated and remember to bring your water bottle with you as well. 

 

Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your session time starting so you can ensure you have time to gear up. Your coaches Nicole Alipio & Anita Diaz will be available to help you as well if you need assistance.

GAME SKILLS SESSION

Full ice hockey gear is required for this session. Helmets (skateboard/ice hockey) and skates are required. If you own ice hockey skates, please bring them with you. You will have the opportunity to rent skates from the club for free. We will collect a $25 refundable deposit prior to the event. There are also limited sets of gear available to rent for free. A $50 refundable deposit will be collected prior to the event.  Advanced notice is required to rent skates or a set of gear as supplies are limited. Stay hydrated and remember to bring your water bottle with you as well.

LEARN TO SKATE SESSION DESCRIPTION: The focus and goal of the Learn to Skate (LTS) curriculums are designed to teach beginner hockey players the fundamentals of skating. This is ideal for participants who have limited experience ice skating or for those who would like a refresher on skating fundamentals.

GAME SKILLS SESSION DESCRIPTION: The focus and goal of the Game Skills curriculum is designed for players (18+) who have completed a Learn to Skate program and have 0-3 years of hockey experience. Upon completion of this program, players have the opportunity to join the Seattle Women’s Hockey Club.

COACH: Ben Daniel
